Washington County to Host 2nd Annual Employee Appreciation Day; Offices to Close Early April 23, 2026
WASHINGTON COUNTY, FL - Building on the success of last year’s celebration, the Washington County Board of County Commissioners is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Employee Appreciation Day on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
The Board officially established the date during their March 12, 2026, meeting with a unanimous 5-0 vote. To ensure all staff members can participate in the festivities, all Washington County offices will close at 11:45 AM.
The event will be held at Blue Lake Park from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM CST. This year’s celebration features a catered meal served by Grace Assembly of God church in Chipley, and employees are encouraged to take the afternoon to connect with co-workers and engage in a variety of fun games and activities.
To further express their gratitude, the Board has authorized Administrative Pay for the remainder of the day. This added bonus serves as a ‘thank you’ for the staff’s commitment to public service, giving them recognition, and allowing them to fully enjoy the festivities and fellowship.
Residents are encouraged to plan their visits to county offices accordingly, as services will be unavailable starting at 11:45 AM on April 23, 2026. Normal business hours will resume on Friday, April 24, 2026.
