Washington County Board of Commissioners Rescinds Countywide Burn Ban

WASHINGTON COUNTY, FL - On Friday, February 27, 2026, the Washington County Board of County Commissioners officially rescinded the countywide burn ban that was enacted on February 12, 2026.

Although the burn ban has been lifted, residents are strongly encouraged to exercise caution when conducting any outdoor burning. Washington County continues to experience drought conditions, and dry vegetation combined with low humidity can increase the risk of wildfire.

Citizens are reminded to follow all Florida Forest Service regulations and to ensure that burns are conducted safely and responsibly.
