Washington County Seeking Volunteer for Value Adjustment Board
WASHINGTON COUNTY, FLA. - The Washington County Board of County Commissioners (WCBOCC) is inviting local citizens to apply for an open seat on the County's Value Adjustment Board (VAB).
The VAB is a quasi-judicial body that hears appeals from property owners regarding property tax assessments and exemption denials. This is an unpaid volunteer position appointed by the WCBOCC.
Who Can Apply
This seat is reserved for a citizen who owns homestead property within Washington County. Under Florida Statute 194.015, applicants also:
• May not be a member or employee of any taxing authority
• May not represent property owners in any administrative or judicial review of property taxes
Additionally, per Florida Administrative Code Rule 12D-9.004, citizen members must be appointed in a manner that avoids conflicts of interest or the appearance of a conflict of interest.

• Deadline: September 4, 2026, by 4:00 PM CT

• Applications available: Administration Office, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM CT
