WASHINGTON COUNTY, FL - The Washington County Board of County Commissioners will host Amnesty Day on March 21, 2026, from 8:00 AM CST to 12:00 Noon CST for all Washington County, Florida residents.
This one-day event allows the residents of Washington County to safely dispose of household hazardous waste. The drop-off event will take place at the Washington County Recycling Center, located at 3115 Highway 77 South, Chipley, FL.
The event gives residents the opportunity to bring household-quantity hazardous materials for proper disposal at no charge. Tires will also be accepted, with a limit of five passenger-vehicle tires per household; additional tires cost $4 each, and tires with rims cost $5 each.
Gas cylinders and explosives will not be accepted. Conditionally-Exempt Small Quantity Generators - such as small businesses, schools, and growers - may participate at a reduced rate.
Residents with questions about what can or cannot be brought or those needing to schedule a small-quantity generator drop-off, please contact the Washington County Recycling Center at 850.6383.6264 Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM CST and 4:00 PM CST.
