FIRE WEATHER WATCH

We’re heading into elevated fire conditions this weekend.
Here’s what that means in plain terms ![]()
• A dry front is moving in
• Humidity is dropping
• Winds will be picking up
Translation: Fires will start easier and spread faster than you think.
A cold front arriving this evening will bring in even drier air, setting us up for dangerous fire conditions on Saturday.
⸻
IMPORTANT FOR WASHINGTON COUNTY RESIDENTS
• There is NO burn ban currently in place
• BUT we are strongly discouraging any outdoor burning

We get it…
Spring break is here, the weather is perfect, and yard work is calling your name.
But this is not the weekend to light that burn pile.
What normally burns safely can quickly turn into:
Multiple units responding
Homes threatened
Fires getting out of control fast
⸻
Safer options this weekend:
• Hold off on burning
• Dispose of yard debris another way
• Keep anything that could spark a fire secured
⸻
Help us keep our crews available and our community safe.
When in doubt… don’t burn it out.
