Veteran Memorial Sign Dedication At St. Joseph Park

Story by: BOCC Staff

The Washington County Board of County Commissioners' Parks and Recreation Director, George Swauger, organized a Veteran Memorial Sign Dedication Ceremony at St. Joseph Park. This dedication ceremony took place the morning of May 20, 2024, where the Board County Commissioners Vice-Chairman, David A. Corbin, and Commissioner Alan Bush were present. Others present were members of AMVETs Veterans Post 007 Chipley, County representatives, and citizens.

A special thanks to all who volunteered their services and donated to the cause. AMVETs Veterans Post 007 Chipley provided the flags, flagpole, and preformed a taps ceremony. Blossoms donated the patriotic silk wreath, Robert Pettis and Nevil Brock for the sign frame, and Community South Bank donated the solar lights that will light up the sign at night.

Below are a few pictures from the ceremony. Due to the nature of these images, if you are visually impaired, please call our office and we will provide personal assistance.
