The Human ResourcesDepartmentis responsible for the overall administrative and technical functions and activities needed to maintain an effective recruitment, selection, and benefits program. Development, implementation and coordination of related policies, procedures and training opportunities are ongoing priorities. The Human Resources Department plans and directs personnel administration for all departments of the Board of County Commissioners, including labor relations, benefits, salary administration, recruitment, selection and training; as well as ensure competitive classification and pay plan programs and compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws on employment issues.

The Human Resources Department is also responsible for administering the County's insurance program for workers' compensation, general liability, automobile liability and property damage claims.
All Citizens Claims for damage to personal property should be submitted to the Human Resources Department on the “Citizens Incident Report” provided below. Please include relevant pictures supporting your claim. You also may call to have forms mailed directly to you or stop by the Washington County BOCC office to pick up the required form and we will take pictures to attach to your report.
